Alpha Chapter Sorority Presents: Showing of “Girl Rising”

The sisters of DPE will be hosting a screening of “Girl Rising” on November 1st in order to fundraise for a girl’s education! Join us in watching a documentary about female empowerment and the transformative power of education. It will be held in White Gravenor 201. All snacks and popcorn provided. $5 donations are suggested, and all proceeds will go towards funding the education of Soipei, a Kenyan girl whose education DPE sponsors every year. Pi Chapter Sorority Presents: Global Trivia Night

Join the sisters of DPE on Friday, November 9th from 6-8 pm for a night of trivia fun! Come with a group of friends or just yourself to participate in a fun night filled with food, friendly competition and trivia! Tickets are $10 a person and $50 for a team of six. All proceeds will go toward a philanthropic organization (TBD). We look forward to seeing you there!

Uyghur Crisis: A Nation in Distress

Dolkun Isa, President of the World Uyghur Congress, and Ilshat Hassan, President of the Uyghur American Association, will be speaking about recent developments concerning the Uyghur people in East Turkistan, otherwise known as China’s Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. On April 8-14, 2019, the Foreign Affairs Council will send another delegation to the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund Annual Meetings and Civil Society Policy Forum. The Forum and Meetings are semi-annual events open to representatives of recognized Civil Society Organizations. The program includes an orientation session on the World Bank Group; a roundtable with World Bank Group Executive Directors; and about 40 policy dialogue sessions that reflect the diversity of Civil Society Organization (CSO) policy concerns.
