World Bank Week Spring 2019 Delegation
April 8, 2019 - April 14, 2019Free
On April 8-14, 2019, the Foreign Affairs Council will send another delegation to the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund Annual Meetings and Civil Society Policy Forum. The Forum and Meetings are semi-annual events open to representatives of recognized Civil Society Organizations. The program includes an orientation session on the World Bank Group; a roundtable with World Bank Group Executive Directors; and about 40 policy dialogue sessions that reflect the diversity of Civil Society Organization (CSO) policy concerns.
How to Attend
Access to the Forum is limited to representatives of recognized CSOs. As a recognized CSO, the Council is free to send its members to the Forum as representatives. Registration is limited to Supporting Alumni and Student Members of the Council. Because the Bank may take up to a month to clear delegates to attend the Forum, please register below by March 1.
NOTE: Registration for this event has now closed. Please check here for updates and delegate information.
Admission to the World Bank Week events is free; however, individual members are responsible for their own travel costs.
The Civil Society Policy Forum and Spring Meetings will feature:
- Opportunities to meet officials from national government delegations, the World Bank and IMF, and international NGOs both at formal networking receptions and informally at other events;
- A CSO roundtable with the World Bank Group Executive Directors;
- A members-only Council roundtable; and
- A Council-sponsored off-site event.
Learn more about the CSO Forum here and the World Bank-IMF Annual Meetings here. To help members get the most out of the CSO Forum and Annual Meetings, the Council will hold an orientation and preparatory session for delegates on Friday, April 5.
The Council has the option to sponsor a public event at the World Bank Headquarters, and we’re collecting your ideas. Submit your program proposals here. For questions, please contact us at email@example.com by Friday, February 8.
Q: Who can join FAC’s delegation?
A: Any registered FAC member may join FAC’s delegation to the World Bank and IMF events. Membership is open to all alumni and students in a Delta Phi Epsilon Professional Foreign Service Fraternity or Sorority chapter. If you are not yet a member, join here.
Q: Do I have to attend every session during World Bank Week?
A: No! Your pass will give you free access to the event locations. Pick and choose which panels and other events you want to attend. We will circulate a list of highlighted events so FAC members can plan to attend together. As we get closer to the event, we will also announce off-site programs for FAC members.
Q: Can I register my friends?
A: No, delegate registration is limited to one per person. We need to be able to submit each delegate’s information to the World Bank for security reviews.
