World Bank-International Monetary Fund Annual Meeting
October 9, 2017 - October 15, 2017Free
Save the date! On October 9-15, 2017, the Society for Foreign Affairs will send a delegation to the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund Annual Meetings and Civil Society Policy Forum. The Forum and Meetings are semi-annual events open to representatives of recognized Civil Society Organizations. The program includes an orientation session on the World Bank Group; a roundtable with World Bank Group Executive Directors; and about 40 policy dialogue sessions that reflect the diversity of Civil Society Organization (CSO) policy concerns.
How to Attend
Access to the Forum is limited to representatives of recognized CSOs. As a recognized CSO, the Delta Phi Epsilon Society is free to send its members to the Forum as representatives. Registration is limited to Annual and Student Members of the Society for Foreign Affairs. Because the Bank may take up to a month to clear delegates to attend the Forum, please register below beginning August 1, 2017.
Admission to the Forum is free; however, individual members are responsible for their own travel costs.
The Civil Society Policy Forum and Annual Meetings will feature:
- A CSO roundtable with the World Bank Group Executive Directors;
- Networking receptions with representatives from NGOs, the World Bank and IMF, and government delegations;
- A members-only Society roundtable; and
- A Society-sponsored policy panel event.
To help members get the most out of the CSO Forum and Annual Meetings, the Society will hold an orientation and preparatory session for delegates on Friday, October 6.
The Society has the option to sponsor a public event at the World Bank Headquarters, and we’re collecting your ideas. Submit your program proposals here. For questions, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org by Friday, August 11 (note: deadline subject to change as the World Bank publishes more program information).
